MY ROLE: Visual Designer & Production Designer on AWS Web Team (contract)
PARTNERS: Team Art Directors, Project Managers and other Designers on team, Project Managers and Engineers across many other teams
DATE: Created in 2018-2019 for the 2018-2019 AWS website updates and re:Invent web assets
CHALLENGE: I was given existing Use Case and How It Works diagrams for AWS products and asked to recreate based on new updated style. Within those diagrams, there were line art illustrations that needed to be created.
SOLUTION: I researched the products and learned the basics about how they worked. I built the diagrams based on that research and the existing diagrams. I also built an internal illustration library for web use which now includes 1,100+ icons & line art illustrations. I made an illustrator template for building out individual illustration files as well as helped create the process for building out the library. I added keywords to all illustrations to make searching easier and am responsible for upkeep of the library.

MY ROLE: Visual Designer & Production Designer on MSFT Office Icon Team
PARTNERS: Team Lead Designer & Project Manager, PowerPoint 3D Team Project Manager, & Project Managers & Engineers across many other teams
DATE: Created in 2016-2018 for the 2019 MSFT Office UX update
CHALLENGE: For the 3D icon set which includes 500+ icons with the different sizes, I was given access to the dog-food build of the new 3D feature in PowerPoint to research.
For the bigger set of ribbon icons which includes 1,400+ icons, I created completely new icons or simply added new sizes of already existing icons. The icons belong to different apps including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote and SharePoint.
SOLUTION: For the 3D icon set, I used the dog-food build and got really familiar with how the 3D feature worked. I also made a small paper airplane so that I could use it as a model when creating the icons.
For the bigger set of ribbon icons, I referred to existing icons and updated based on existing visuals sometimes changing the visual completely. There were always new features being added, so I would do research into how those new features worked and create the icon based on the functionality. Every icon was created to be pixel-perfect and then turned into True Type fonts which are packaged within the software.
MY ROLE: Production Designer on Microsoft Office Icon Team (contract)
PARTNERS: Team Lead Designer & Project Manager
DATE: Created in 2018 for 2018 Google Play Store (visual update)
CHALLENGE: I was given one existing size of each branding app icon (I wasn't even given existing files to all, just some of the app icons) and I had to create a set of high DPI sizes for each app for the Google Play Store. I created each one to be pixel-perfect.
SOLUTION: I simply built out the set of sizes for each branding icon.
These are just for fun and were created from 2015 to now.
ABOUT: A contemporary sprinkle mix shop based out of Austin, TX
CHALLENGE: Rosie came to me with the idea of creating Neon Yolk in 2016 and together we figured out what web assets were needed besides a logo and I created all of it. In 2018, Rosie hired a Web Designer to design a website as she was only on Etsy at that time. Most of the assets on her new website were recreated by the Web Designer.
SOLUTION: I talked a lot with Rosie and created a Pinterest board which we would both add pins to. Based on that, I created all of the web assets including logos for everyday use and different holidays as well as cover photos for social media. I also created stickers for her sprinkle mix bags and for the packaging that the mixes come in.
